Early in 1842 Clara went off on a concert tour to Denmark leaving Robert, angry and jealous, with their 6 month old child. The young couple only had one piano and when Robert was composing she could not practice. However, there was friction, for Clara wished to continue her own career. During the first year of their marriage, Robert Schumann embarked on a year of prodigious creativity.
